How to Organize Your Workflow - Trello Review!

Why I'm LEAVING Trello 😲 | Trello 2019

Trello - A Quick Overview

Reviews

  1.
    A handy tool for planning

Trello excels as a task planning tool, and I appreciate its user-friendly interface, especially when using it on a smartphone. Its mobile app is incredibly convenient, allowing me to stay organized and connected on the go. I appreciate how it streamlines collaboration without unnecessary complexities.

  2.
Been using it for over 5 years! Super effective!

Incorporating Trello into my daily workflow has been a game-changer. It is an incredibly intuitive and versatile tool that has significantly boosted my productivity. What I particularly love about Trello is the visual aspect of its interface - the board and card system makes it easy to visualize my tasks and progress. The ability to create different boards for different projects or areas of work helps to keep everything organized and easy to manage. Adding, moving, and categorizing tasks are just a drag-and-drop away, making it straightforward and efficient. The flexibility to customize each card with due dates, labels, checklists, attachments, and even members has been beneficial in tracking the status of various tasks and deadlines.

he collaborative features are another huge plus. Sharing boards and tasks with colleagues, and being able to comment directly on cards, makes team projects and communication a breeze. On the go, I have found the Trello mobile app to be just as user-friendly and functional as the desktop version, allowing me to stay on top of my tasks no matter where I am. Overall, Trello has proved to be an invaluable tool in managing my daily tasks and enhancing productivity. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their workflow.

A Great Collaboration Tool, But There Are Better Options Out There

I have been using Trello for a couple of years now and I must say, it's a great tool for organising tasks and collaborating with team members. It's simple to use, has a nice interface, and the mobile apps are great for on-the-go productivity.

One of the best things about Trello is its flexibility. You can use it for almost any type of project, whether it's a personal to-do list or a complex team project. The ability to create multiple boards and add unlimited cards and lists makes it a great tool for keeping track of everything from the big picture to the minute details.

However, while Trello is a good tool, I don't think it's the best option out there. For one thing, the free version is quite limited in terms of features and functionality. You'll have to upgrade to a paid plan to get access to things like integrations, power-ups, and more. Additionally, I've found that Trello can be a bit slow at times, especially when you have a lot of boards and cards.

    🏁 Competitors: Asana
    👍 Pros:    Flexible|Easy to use|Mobile app
👎 Cons:    Expensive|Limited features on free plan|Little slow

Perfect to-do lists for team collaboration

I want to share my experience of using Trello. I like this product very much for its native UX and simplicity. My team of the Marketing department uses it daily for planning our tasks. You can quickly create, edit and move the cards with tasks. The best things are assigning tasks to team members, crossing the completed tasks, and viewing the progress that changes as you mark a task as done! Nice tool for to-do lists!

  6.
Great planning tool for simple project planning and task management

Trello is really great compared with your average todo list, Excel spreadsheet, or planning tool. Unless your needs are super complex or your list of tasks is longer than a few hundred items, I'd say start with Trello until you need something else. If you're in a domain where there's good planning tools or you're tracking a ton of items, e.g. issue tracking for software development, then it's worth doing a more detailed evaluation of alternatives for you.

Simple visual task management, but no project planning or people management

Trello works really well for simple visual task management.

Everyone on your team can quickly see what’s happening in the project and what tasks need to be done.

It works really well for small teams with simple projects and tasks. But for large teams working on several projects, Trello can quickly become cluttered.

However, compared to Asana and Toggl Plan, Trello falls short at project planning and team management.

There’s no way to see the project timeline and keep track of milestones.

You also won’t be able to quickly see who’s available, who's working and who’s on vacation, making it difficult to manage team workloads.

    🏁 Competitors: Asana, Toggl Plan

Trello also lets you create custom automations that run based on project activity, like an approaching due date or when a card is moved between lists. It’s flexible enough for light agile work and has a user-friendly interface. Data syncs across devices when working which is also a plus. Trello vs Pneumatic: Two Takes on Operations Management and Collaboration
However, as beneficial as it is, Trello may falter as your team grows. Picture this: your organization is scaling up, and with more hands on deck, the number of tasks escalates. Consequently, your Trello boards, once sleek and neat, begin to resemble a dense forest, brimming with cards and the number of boards shoots up too, so it becomes difficult to remember which board that all-important card is even on.

Plane: Open-Source Alternative to Jira | Hacker News
The main thing I actually don’t like about Jira is that: its insistence on setting up all new projects with infantile, Trello-like schemes, which then encourage sloppy setup when you start customizing unless you’re very seasoned with Jira. I think they should consider training an AI to “do what I mean” and help users to build out their setups —because transitioning from the “out of box experience”...
